#About_the_exhibition:

“Tilted Archipelago” – a solo exhibition by artist Ha Ninh Pham – invites the audience to “jump” on an adventure journey to distant territories. Here, the horizon, a concept or boundary that splits “the sky” and “the sea”, is defined in this context in a way that does not coincide with the reality in which we are living. On the journey to that territory, the audience encounters islands or traces of life that were (intentionally) left behind. They represent individuals who are torn between self-defining and being defined. Or a simultaneous incarnation of the artist – the work – the audience between two basic roles: subject and object.
At the precise moment that we see, we are absorbed in the observation of the world we are entering.
The exhibition “Tilted Archipelago” is on display from April 15th to May 15th, from 18h38 to 21h00 Monday till Sunday, at NGA Art Space, TACH SPACES 20 Hai Ba Trung.
#About_the_program
Á Space and Phạm Hà Ninh are delighted to invite you to the private critique for Phạm Hà Ninh’s recent exhibition ‘Tilted Archipelago’ (currently on view after 18h38 till 21h00 at NGÃ Art Space, Tách Spaces, 20 Hai Bà Trưng, until May 15, 2022).
This is the first time that Hà Ninh has experimented with installation at a specific site, thus, welcoming all criticism and feedbacks anyone, especially art practitioners, might have for his practice. The artist hopes that this critique would help him further develop from this experiment.
For this critique session, Á would also want to experiment a focused, intensive model of critique with the participation of three guest panelists: artist/curator Vũ Đức Toàn, curator Lê Thuận Uyên and artist Đặng Thuỳ Anh. These panelists, in one way or another, share an interest in Hà Ninh’s practice, concerns and materials. Apart from these panelists, there will be a moderator to facilitate the discussion in an open and constructive manner, hoping to receive as many feedbacks from the participants as possible.
This critique session will be open by invitation only as opposed to being open to the public. The structure of the session will be divided into 3 main parts:
Part 1 – 20 minutes: Artist share about his practice and exhibition on view
Part 2 – 30 minutes: Each panelist take turn to respond to the presentation and ask questions to the artist
Part 3 – 40 minutes: Open discussion for all participants
In order to participate in critique session, participants are asked to visit ‘Tilted Archipelago’ by Phạm Hà Ninh.
