As Hanoi continues to undergo rapid urban transformation, the relationship between people, landscapes, and surrounding ecosystems is constantly being reshaped, giving rise to new forms of coexistence.

Transient Ecologies  is an art project initiated by artist Đặng Thùy Anh following her residency in Berlin as part of Ecological Futures. Building upon the methodologies and experimental tools developed during the residency, the project seeks to reimagine and adapt these approaches within the context of Hanoi. Transient Ecologies is organised by Á Space with the support of Goethe-Institut Hanoi that is informed by interdisciplinary collaboration with other practitioners.

Taking “Blurring the Borders” as its point of departure, the project approaches artistic practice as a mode of research, dialogue, and connection between ecology, the urban environment, and local communities. Through an open studio, exhibitions, performances, film screenings, discussions, workshops, and public programmes taking place across Á Space and its surrounding neighbourhood, the project creates opportunities to reflect on how new forms of coexistence might be cultivated within an urban ecosystem that is continuously transforming.
