Out There: Dan’s documentary/reportal video series about local Skate Scene culture.

Up There: Instagram Dream Series by Nguyễn Vũ Trụ invites the audience to travel deep into the subconscious of a Vietnamese artist born in the internet age.

Youth is a time for passions and hopes to blossom. Youth is the time for new discoveries, rebellion and daring actions. Youth is also a time for doubts and worries to be resolved.

Dan, a skate filmmaker, and Vũ Trụ, an experimental artist, may differ in their shooting methods in their own practices. But they all have a common feature in describing and building the worldview through the lens of youth.

Whether it’s the interactions of skaters in daily life skating in or the abstract thoughts of a young artist wandering on Instagram. We hope the audience will have a new perspective on what young people are seeing and caring about in recent years.

Dan Nguyễn is 22 years old, currently living and working in Hà Nội. His favorite work is photography and documenting. He takes special interest in Skate culture because it links with various things in daily life.

Nguyễn Vũ Trụ is a CHILD OF NEW SÀI GÒN. Born on dragon day, dragon month and dragon year at the dawn of the 21st century. A multimedia artist works through painting, sculpture, video and performance. His practice poses the questions of a traveler traversing the three realms of matter, the subconscious, and the internet.
